KEMRON ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, INC IS AN EMPLOYEE-OWNED COMPANY

JOB SUMMARY

Reports to the Project Manager and performs daily site supervision of company employees and subcontractors at environmental remediation and construction project sites. Responsible for employee and subcontractor compliance with the Site Health and Safety Plan. Responsible for project quality control. Tracks time of employees and directs employees in safe and proper procedures, following KEMRON SOPs for activities. Must have basic knowledge of earthwork, i.e., excavation, grading, and backfilling.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES


  • Manages the day-to-day activities of onsite employees and subcontractors.
  • Communicates in a timely and consistent manner with Project Manager and or Program/Department Manager.
  • Completes and submits daily, weekly, and monthly written reports to the Project Manager.
  • Maintains the project work schedule.
  • Tracks project budget and approves subcontractor invoices.
  • Ensures that proper KEMRON safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Immediately brings problems to the attention of the Project Manager and/or corporate Health and Safety Director.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 90%.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 3 years' experience as Construction Superintendent or similar position, preferably in the environmental remediation and construction field.
  • Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the job duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of the proper and safe use of equipment, materials and supplies as utilized in environmental remediation and construction work.
  • Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to project work schedule.
  • Computer literacy required, must include working knowledge of Word, Excel, experience with SharePoint a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Training/8-Hour Refresher training is required.
  • Current valid driver's license and ability to pass a HAZWOPER medical exam and drug screen in accordance with KEMRON's Medical Monitoring Program and vehicle insurance carrier.
  • Must be able to understand and will sign-off on Corporate and worksite Health and Safety Plan(s).
  • Must have experience with and ability to direct "tailgate" safety meetings as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Certified First Aid and CPR training.


WORK CONTEXT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Regularly works in outdoor conditions that may include inclement weather, such as heat and humidity, rain, extreme cold with snow/ice.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for the majority of a workday.
  • May work in an environment with close proximity to moving vehicles and mechanical parts.
  • Must have the ability to work in full PPE including respiratory protection which may include SCBA, APR, SAR.
  • Must understand and follow KEMRON SOPs for specific task(s).
  • Must be able to travel to work/project sites and traverse all types of terrain, often only on foot.
  • Must be able to assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned tasks.
  • May require after hours and weekend work, including travel based on project specific needs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
