Position Summary
The Barback at Rusty Rail Brewing Company plays a vital support role in ensuring the bar team operates efficiently and delivers an exceptional guest experience. This position is responsible for maintaining stock levels, cleanliness, and organization behind the bar; assisting bartenders during busy service periods; preparing server beers and cocktails; and helping uphold Rusty Rail's standards of quality, speed, and hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
1. Bar Setup and Stock Management
· Prepare and stock all bar stations before each shift with necessary items (beer, liquor, wine, mixers, ice, glassware, garnishes, napkins, etc.).
· Prepare server beers and cocktails according to Rusty Rail recipes and standards.
· Refill and rotate stock throughout service to ensure seamless bartender operation.
· Maintain accurate par levels and communicate low or out-of-stock items to management.
· Restock kegs and ensure proper beer line function and cleanliness.
· Transport and organize product from storage areas and coolers to bar locations.
2. Cleanliness and Maintenance
· Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all bar areas, coolers, and glassware.
· Clean spills immediately, empty trash receptacles regularly, and follow proper recycling and waste procedures.
· Wash, polish, and restock glassware and utensils.
· Assist in end-of-shift cleanup.
· Follow daily bar cleaning checklists and ensure all closing duties are completed.
3. Service and Team Support
· Support bartenders during high-volume hours by preparing garnishes, refilling ice bins, running food or drinks, and clearing empty glasses.
· Maintain a professional, guest-focused demeanor while assisting with any front-of-house needs.
· Deliver exceptional internal service to bartenders and servers to enhance overall guest experience.
· Assist with bar prep and setup for events, beer releases, and private functions.
4. Safety and Compliance
· Follow all alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety protocols in accordance with Rusty Rail Brewing Company policies and state liquor laws. Must be RAMP certified or willing to take the RAMP certification (eligible for reimbursement) upon hiring.
· Properly handle cleaning agents and chemicals in compliance with OSHA standards.
· Report any maintenance, equipment, or safety issues immediately to management.

Qualifications
· Must be 18 years of age or older (21+ preferred).
· Previous experience in a bar, brewery, or restaurant setting preferred but not required.
· Strong work ethic and willingness to learn brewery and beverage operations.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly (kegs, boxes, cases).
· Comfortable working on feet for extended periods and in fast-paced environments.
· Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality required.
· Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and respect for Rusty Rail's brand and hospitality culture.
