ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College, Soto de Viñuelas , the flagship school of the King’s Group, is seeking a dedicated and caring Part-Time House Parent to support our boarding students. This role is ideal for someone already fulfilling a teaching or other role within the school, or with coaching responsibilities, who wishes to contribute to the pastoral care of our boarders. The House Parent will help ensure a safe, supportive, and structured environment for students, enabling them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Accommodation is provided as part of the role, and the position involves some evening and weekend duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide pastoral care and supervision for boarding students in the house. Support students’ welfare, wellbeing, and personal development. Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe boarding environment. Collaborate with teaching staff, house staff, and other school colleagues. Support students in managing routines, study time, and co-curricular activities. Participate in evening and weekend supervision duties as required. Serve as a positive role model for students, upholding the school’s values and ethos.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Experience working with children or teenagers in a pastoral, educational, or residential setting. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills. Empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students. Flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required. Ability to support students’ emotional and social development effectively. Commitment to promoting the ethos and values of a British international school.
