Overview
My client, a global manufacturer with a multi-site footprint is seeking a strategic leader to oversee its Demand Planning and SIOP (Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning) function. This role is pivotal in aligning supply chain operations with commercial strategy, ensuring accurate forecasting, optimized inventory, and seamless cross-functional execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as the central liaison for demand planning across Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership
- Lead monthly demand planning sessions and executive SIOP reviews
- Manage the end-to-end demand planning process—from statistical modeling to consensus and publication
- Maintain and communicate key performance indicators including forecast accuracy, bias, and financial impact
- Ensure production forecasts align with capacity constraints and demonstrated line capabilities
- Oversee master data accuracy and planning automation within SAP
- Collaborate with Procurement to align supply with production needs and resolve bottlenecks
- Publish forecasts across MRP, Finance, Sales, Product Management, Logistics, and Sourcing
- Deliver inventory analysis and reporting to support financial and operational decisions
- Quantify and communicate the business value of planning initiatives
- Drive continuous improvement through analytics, modeling, and reporting innovation
- Establish and enforce standard work for forecast overrides and stakeholder accountability
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Business, or Computer Science (MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, and supply chain management across global, multi-plant operations
- Proven success implementing and leading SIOP processes
- Strong understanding of inventory flows, valuation, and capacity planning
- Proficiency in SAP and demand planning tools (GIB preferred)
- Financial fluency in sourcing costs, COGS, MRB, and inventory accuracy
- Advanced analytical skills; experience with AI tools is a plus
- Familiarity with supply chain KPIs, master scheduling, and inventory optimization (APICS certification preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and decision-making skills with the ability to influence across matrixed teams and time zones
